I would think that Lobelia would be fine up there. It was blooming the other day (Oct 12th) here in Western Massachusetts and we’ve had temps down close to freezing already.

Regarding the mildew; while it possible the the spraying has something to do with it, I think it’s more likely that it is just very damp in that area and the plats are crowded. Thinning the plants to allow more air flow would probably help.

Well, one good thing to remember is that this plant produces lots of seed, even in the first year, although it is a bit late now. So, before long, you should have all the seeds you need!
