Herb Whisperer's

Digital Library

A Window into the Past Offering a Gate into the Future

And while having a physical library is still important for many, access to digital texts has become both common place and important for many reasons. Unfortunately, many digital texts are flat and boring.

The worst among them are simply pictures of books saved as a PDF and loaded onto a site. While these are valuable, they cannot be searched or only have limited search functionality. A few sites have taken the pains to develop some texts into searchable files but still maintain the “old fashioned” flat format.

At Herb Whisperer we have integrated the power of the most powerful optical character recognition (OCR) software and the latest online e-book application.

We offer users fully searchable texts that are also attractive and pleasant to browse.
Furthermore, non-native speakers can use Google translate to give them a pretty good idea about what the text says. This, of course, has its limits. One can not expect to use this tool to render a Ming dynasty Chinese medicine text into English and get a very accurate translation. However, it can help you to gain some understanding of what the author is trying to say.
